Company seeks a Financial Analyst to partner with Delivery Experience (DEX) team. The vision of the Delivery Experience and Programs organization is that everyone in the world is inspired to shop at Company because our delivery offers improve their lives, making the Earth’s largest selection available when, where and how they want it. The DEX portfolio includes Prime shipping benefits, non-Prime free shipping, specialty programs for items that are unusually large/heavy (e.g. Scheduled Delivery) or unusually small and inexpensive (Add-on Items), programs that increase delivery convenience, incentives to choose delivery offers (e.g. No-Rush), and shipping prices.
The Financial Analyst will play a key role on key strategic initiatives to expand shipping programs, increase customer adoption and help achieve strategic financial performance goals. The focus on the role will be on Faster Than Core initiatives, partnering with the team that owns the delivery offers that allow customers, especially Prime members, to benefit from fast delivery speeds across a broad subset of Company’s total selection, including delivery options like Prime Free Same-Day / One-Day Delivery. An ideal candidate will have a proven ability in providing data-based decision making and analysis as well as thinking strategically in a fast-changing environment. Additional responsibilities include business and financial forecasting, monitoring of success metrics, and adhoc financial support.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating, improving, and maintaining financial models to evaluate
delivery programs and shipping options
- Completing cost / benefit analyses and communicate key drivers / inputs to support business decisions.
- Creating, improving, and maintaining financial metrics, reports and scorecards
- Communicating financial and business results including variance analyses to senior business leaders
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required in business, finance, engineering or related field
- 3+ years in finance roles with progressively increasing levels of
responsibility
- 2+ years’ experience performing financial and ad hoc analysis using data reporting tools
- 2+ years’ experience with Excel advanced functions (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)
- Knowledge of SQL
- Ability to translate large amounts of data into useful information and actionable priorities
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - prioritization and planning
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Understanding of finance issues in a retail and/or operational
environment of rapid growth
- Strong proficiency in analysis tools including Microsoft Excel, SQL, and statistics software
