The Robotics Institute at Company was established in 1979 to conduct basic and applied research in robotics technologies relevant to industrial and societal tasks. Seeking to combine the practical and the theoretical, we have diversified efforts and approaches to robotics science while retaining the original goal of realizing the potential of the robotics field.
We are seeking a Research Associate to join Professor Henny Admoni's research team. In this role, you will perform sponsored research on socially assistive robots for developing children’s art-making skills.
Core responsibilities include:
Designing an augmented reality art-making game, and develop software to implement the game, including developing systems for perception and robot control. Program robot to execute social behaviors in response to human and game states
Designing and conduct human subjects studies of users interacting with augmented reality game. Collect and analyze data from study.
Reporting results of studies and participate in writing research papers for publication.
Master’s degree in technology or design field, experience with conducting research, experience programming robots
Some programming experience (toward any application, in any language), a Bachelor's level understanding of computer science or design
Experience with human subject research, experience programming in Python with ROS
