Currently we are seeking an Engagement Strategist to build on our growth and help us accelerate our strategic proposition. Our objective is to be become the market leader for information about Congress and its relationship to the executive branch, and develop systems that will cleverly expand our reach to those who want and need to be in the know.

Accountabilities:
In the role you would be expected to:
• Aggressively leverage analytics to optimize all of our editorial and advertising objectives, from audience development itself, to content creation, product development and other new business initiatives
• Develop and implement best practice audience development strategies for the brands, working closely with the Chief Content Officer and the Director of Digital Content across the two brands and their many verticals
• Leverage the biggest opportunities for growth across the business and meet the needs of the advertising marketplace
• Directly organize social engagement and social tools, content syndication, contributor network development and influencer relations, email newsletter engagement and other amplification tools
• Setup training methods and materials for editorial and product teams to ensure all relevant audience growth techniques are being used with the right level of expertise and as often as appropriate, especially among our cohort of front-line reporting talent
• Develop and rollout a best practice daily editorial process across our digital teams utilizing live content, audience analytics, social listening and other appropriate tools
• Lead the brand's relationships with all social networks, keep up to date on their products and develop strategies that take advantage of them for CQ and Roll Call
• Develop promotion plans for new digital products and be a strong advocate for ingenuity and entrepreneurship as we make new things
• Work with the marketing team to help grow customer databases and drive leads across the businesses
• Instill a audience-growing mindset for everyone at Roll Call
Experience, skills and professional attributes:
To succeed in the role you must have:
• A minumum of two years of experience at a major publication
• A proven track record of audience growth and development
• Deep relationships with major social networks
• An understanding of how to use metrics to drive growth
• An understanding of internal and external content partnerships, SEO, social and email best practices
• An interest in growth and doing what works to build a brand, while never sacrificing quality
• A compassionate but driven approach for success
To succeed in the role you will be able to demonstrate:
• An authoritative understanding of what Twitter and Facebook have in common and where they diverge
• An intrinsic "get" about when we should experiment on new social platforms and when we're better off growing our existing channels
• A love for the business of government and have a knack for connecting content with audiences eager to understand politics, power and policy
