1 Editorial
• Receive manuscripts, art programs, and permissions files into production.
• Prepare “turnover” package from editorial to production, identifying and gathering outstanding materials and corresponding and following up with authors as required; cleaning and consolidating manuscript and creating/completing art and permissions logs as needed.
• Track permissions and release requests.
• Create and manage freelance contracts.
• Support editorial group as needed.

2 Production
• Support Senior Production Editor as required with management and preparation of material for freelance copyediting, typesetting, and proofreading.
• Scan and digitally manage artwork; track and manage original artwork and correspond with authors about art as required.
• Facilitate photo- and video shoot events. Manage large, complex digital photo pools; tag and search photos; work closely with freelance Photo Editor.
• Assist with interior and cover design functions, preparing presentation materials, simple layout, generating bar codes, etc.
• Manage digital-assets and 3rd-party publications to accompany print.
• Maintain and update online resources pages for new and ongoing products.
• Check proof, post/download files to/from vendors, authors, etc.
• Register books with Library of Congress Cataloging-in-Publication department.
• Manage post-publication responsibilities, eg. distributing copies, supporting appreciation events, and the like.

3 Sales and Marketing
• Supply content across from editorial and production group as needed for development of promotional material.
• Work with Marketing Director , Digital Management Team, Customer Service, and other functional areas as needed to ensure website feeds remain current and accurate.
• Act as information resource for sales inquiries and requests as needed.

4 General
• Maintain information management systems, files, databases, and archival records and systems.
• Schedule, attend and facilitate and on- and offsite events such as weekly status meetings, author visits and meetings; Skype and audio-conferences; and other meetings and events as required.
• Maintain print library.

Physical Requirements:
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing).
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.
