The Transportation Director will have an extensive background in strategic Logistics and Supply Chain Management to include process innovation, benchmarking and key performance measurements, customer coordination strategies, customized logistics solutions, lead-time and cost reduction strategies. The Transportation Director II is responsible for Transportation Management, Inbound Management, Final Mile and Proof of Delivery.
This role will oversee the creation and implementation of policies and procedures, meeting objectives established by executive initiatives and managing the activities of all management staff as it relates to the logistics related to brand product. The Transportation Director II will oversee operational procedures including analyses and forecast of customer shipping requirements, planning and development of logistic programs. In addition, the Transportation Director II will develop methods and procedures for transportation and the expediting of product.

Final mile team supporting Company website, Builders, Regional and Club deliveries
Inbound Team responsible for inbound shipment to all 11 SEA warehouse facilities
Proof of Deliver (POD) Team: PODs are required to pay our 3PL transportation partners. IOD needs to be completed with 24hrs POD with 7 days. These documents also provide the proof to our customers given there are claims regarding damages and shortages.
Transportation Management: The Transportation Director II is responsible for transportation management, to include strategic, and operational management of all transportation activities, both domestic and international, to include hands-on expertise in understanding and management of transportation cost reduction strategies, multi-modal transportation selection, network transportation coordination, and inbound container traffic, railhead and drayage operations, and outbound traffic.
Identifies and create strategies to optimize small parcel delivery leveraging national and regional networks. Design small parcel integration strategies to harmonize multiple SEA divisions and subsidiaries
Identifies strategies and efficiencies that reduce shipping costs within the supply chain network, through development of load consolidation programs, sailing schedules, continuous moves, lower cost carriers, mode changes, and dedicated fleets.
Oversee the management of Transportation RFPs. Works directly with vendors on negotiating rates and terms & conditions. Responsible for selecting carriers.
Oversee the load planning process, and freight claims filing. Oversees the implementation of solutions to operational and service issues with carriers and warehouses. Oversees the implementation of programs for measuring on-time delivery.
Additionally, the Transportation Director II designs and manage a comprehensive carrier scorecard program, develops customized transportation strategies to increase service levels and reduce costs, and ensures claims are filed and settled within the carriers liability time frame
Oversees Carrier Management, negotiation and performance analysis
Contract negotiations: Will have responsibility to select, hire, and performance management of departmental staff. Manage departmental operating budget and proposes solutions for reducing budgets to Executive Management Team. Identify departmental MBOs. Present to external and internal executives. Make recommendations for agreements with third party vendors
Role and Responsibilities
Manage a department and major business process within the distribution cycle.
Make business related decisions involving multiple factors that may be ambiguous in nature. Decisions on matters that have a significant impact on business operations, financial results, and customer/vendor relationships.
Manage and measure logistics processes including; shipping, warehouse, carrier activity, and damaged products claims identifying exceptional or high cost deviations and making procedural decisions outside the scope of established guidelines.
The Transportation Director II manages strategic distribution network planning, and 3PL contracts/coordination, with a continuous focus on process creativity, customer service improvement, waste reduction, and cost savings innovation.
Manages the direct ship and inbound shipment process
Establish and formulate real time, focused benchmarks and MBOs/KPIs for each operational aspect of logistics performance
The Transportation Director II is involved with the sales and marketing business teams, customer resource management, and assisting with continuous logistics improvement.
Responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPIs and performance reviews. Conduct a comparative review of all 3PL activity and cost analysis monthly and reports through senior management.
15 to 20 years’ experience in Supply Chain, or Logistics
Master’s Degree in business, Supply Chain, or Logistics is desirable
Supply Chain Certification desirable
Industry Experience in transportation and warehousing
Experience Korean and English bilingual (read, write, speak)
Experience in a global company
Experience in consumer electronics and/or home appliances
