Right now we're looking for a Director of Retail Financial Operations to join our growing team. The Director of Retail Financial Operations will oversee the financial planning, annual budgeting and monthly forecasting of the Sales and Profitability in our retail Stores, Regions, and Divisions. They will provide business analysis and process improvements across the operations of our retail segments. They will have the ability to challenge the way our business operates with data, including making better, faster, business decisions; distilling insights from data and taking advantage of these insights in daily operations.
What would you do? – The Specifics
Works closely with business stakeholders as well as technology, product and operational leaders to continuously evolve data strategy and drive Company’s most important strategic priorities.
Understands the business functions (Sales, Technology, Product, Marketing, Finance, etc.) to identify opportunities to make data-driven decisions, unlock growth opportunities, improve our operational flow and build data products that drive sales and efficiency.
Partners closely with business stakeholders and provides ongoing support (enablement, automation and robust statistical analysis).
Oversees database processes for data integrity maintenance (Database Warehouse, Access Databases and Store P&L software).
Leads, schedules, organizes, and implements the retail annual operation budget, supporting schedules and reports. Implements, maintains, and tests budget and reporting system.
Delivers financial modeling tools to Retail Operations for use in evaluating payroll, scheduling, and new store openings.
Provides in depth analysis of sales, margins and expense management to senior management regularly that affects the day to day operations of all retail stores and makes recommendations for improvements.
Guides and leads financial planning and business analysis to finance teams and store management.
Oversees monthly and quarterly financial analysis, variance and forecasting activities and presents regular updates to senior management.
Leads the implementation and administration of adequate financial systems, templates, processes and routines for the Retail Operations Finance.
Creates and distributes reporting to retail operations, operations support, and management, and answers any questions regarding the information provided.
Acts as a liaison between Retail Operations, Finance and IT.
Works with field management to leverage our business intelligence tools and reports that will assist the District Managers in analyzing and improving their business.
Manages annual changes for shifting business needs to the database driving Performance Scorecard System.
Mentors, leads, and trains direct reports in becoming an integral part of the Operations Department.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, MBA preferred
10+ years’ of Financial Analysis/Accounting experience, including Data modeling required.
5+ years Management experience required.
Expertise in managing reporting functions, including producing KPIs and Dashboards and publishing through multiple channels
Relational Database experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel and Access
Skilled in analytics and financial platforms (i.e. SAP Business Objects, SAP Business Planning and Consolidation, etc,)
Retail Operations experience required.
Retail business acumen required.
Strong verbal/written communication abilities; effective interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail.
Strong leader with the ability to interact with and influence others effectively.
Analytical thinker with ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve complex problems quickly.
Executive level comfort in understanding the complexity of business needs and decision drivers within an organization. Must be able to consider available facts, constraints, competitive circumstances, and probable consequences.
