Director / Program Leader of DRM

This Engineering Director is responsible for leading CRHFs and AFS's strategic DRM Initiatives.
**Day in the Life**
+ Maintain and refresh overarching vision for CRHF and AFS DRM initiatives tied to important outcomes
+ Elimination of design related field actions
+ General reduction in the overall cost of poor quality
+ Track, manage and improve project level DRM outcome measures.
+ Work with Marketing, Research Development, Operations Supply Management, and Quality leaders to effectively align, perform and realize DRM outcomes.
+ Work with other leaders within CRHF and AFSto establish a set of specific initiatives with specific outcomes that will move CRHF and AFS forward towards its goals; drive execution
+ Establish fiscal year execution objectives based on the initiatives to drive execution of the initiatives
+ Track both progress against the execution objectives and progress towards our overarching DRM goals
+ Correct course along the way to maintain focus on achieving our overarching goals
+ Drive integration of DRM into the product development process. Effectively deploy and support required change management for the success of 3 DRM focused business process: Opportunity Definition, Solution Definition, and Project Planning and Management.
+ Represent CRHF and AFS in all corporate and CVG DRM Councils; be CRHFs and AFS's voting member at CVGDRM Council meetings
+ Participate in reviews of project frameworks/schedules for early-development projects (pre-DP3) to:
+ Ensure that risks are accurately captured and that risk burn-down work is utilizing appropriate DRM practices
+ Ensure that system integration points accurately burn-down risks related software/firmware aspects of the system (especially with respect to understanding use conditions and proper operation over all use conditions for software and connectivity)
+ Drive improved usage of predictive engineering to ensure our designs are robust
+ Influence corporate-lead efforts to align with CRHF and AFS expectations and best-practices.
+ Support corporate, CVG, CRHF and AFS efforts related to DRM training (Black Belt, Green Belt, Executive, etc.)
+ Promote DRM via periodic DRM symposiums and at MDT Modeling symposium and ST Conference
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering
+ 10+ years of technical work experience
+ 7+ years of project and/or people management experience
**Nice to Have**
+ Working knowledge of Project Management methodologies and tools; working knowledge of Six Sigma principles and Medtronics DRM principles
+ Demonstrated strong business acumen and planning
+ Strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening (with all levels of the organization.
+ Strong interpersonal, quantitative analysis, and problem solving skills.
+ Influence management skills
+ Ability to facilitate team meetings, creates and delivers presentations, and drive meetings to action-oriented decisions.
+ Ability to communicate difficult and sensitive information tactfully and confidently.
+ Experience supporting cross-functional teams remotely.
+ Results oriented. Ability to drive to completion in adherence to aggressive project schedules.
+ Enthusiasm towards process improvements and change management.
+ Identifies and resolves issues in a proactive, creative, and timely fashion.
+ Ability to work in a matrix organization with the desire to develop collaborative relationships within program level core team model and multiple functional organizations.
+ Track record of successfully leading projects to completion.
