The Director Pricing and Strategy is responsible for strategy development, identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, long-range goal planning and pricing strategies. Drives strategic initiatives and supports the development of long-term growth plans and profitability goals. Analyzes and recommends emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, including competitive threats, internal business performance and business process improvement. Responsible for overseeing organizational reviews and communicating results to senior management. The leader will work cross functionally to support the build-out of the organization s pricing analytic models and technologies and assist in driving the Company's strategic pricing agenda.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
20%- Identifies, scopes and manages strategic projects end-to-end; maintains responsibility for deliverables and timelines, shifting priorities as needed; manages stakeholder relationships and expectations
20%- Facilitates business problem solving through establishing strategic context, developing structured hypotheses, performing detailed analysis, synthesizing insights, and aligning to execution plans, leading to recommendations to senior management
10%- Builds trust and productive relationships with team members and stakeholders across the organization
10%- Maintains thorough knowledge of company's products, competition, and broader market dynamics that frame the business context both present and over the next few years
20%- Determines strategy to lead the Pricing Analytics team in creating value through regional price strategies, category price analytics, competitive intelligence and pricing tools and development
20%- Provides leaders and business partners with actionable insights on pricing opportunities through frequent, proactive communication as well as clear and concise presentations and reports
NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to CEO, SVP Interline.
This role will have 3-5 direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience:10 years
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Strong process and analytical skills
Project management experience
Ability to multi task in a highly complex, ambiguous environment
Understanding of retail and the core business drivers
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Familiarity with pricing analytics and strategy
Knowledge of merchandising, as well as other related functions (marketing, operations, etc.)
Ability to build relationships across functions and influence decisions
Strategic thinking and competitive analysis
Ability to pick new concepts up quickly; adaptability in a changing environment
Takes the initiative, often times where minimal direction may be given
Proficient in Power Point and Excel
Knowledge of statistical, econometric, quantitative analysis
Understanding of computational methods and applicability to business problems
