Director North American Marketing
Summary:
Leads the development and execution of a comprehensive North American marketing program working closely with sales and the brand teams to develop and execute strategies that support the overall business objectives.
Responsibilities:
Leads the development and execution of a comprehensive North American marketing program working closely with Sales and the Brand teams to develop and execute strategies that support the overall business objectives.
Cross Functional and collaborative: Will work across the organization (both direct reports and peers) to coordinate the resources assigned to each element of the go-to-market plan. Will help to define the internal or external resources aligned to carry out the plan and will coordinate an integrated go to market calendar to ensure that all deliverables are met and all components are synchronized.

Key role functional responsibilities:
Planning
• Establishes company’s trade marketing platform
• Develops and implements annual planning calendar with brand marketing leaders, budgets, deployment, etc.
• Leads the development of marketing and trade support budget w/brand marketing leaders and sales
• Creates all national promotion plans and merchandising programs
• Participates in new product introduction and launch execution
• Works with Regional Sales Managers to develop customer specific plans and evaluates results
Coordination
• Works with GM’s on specific trade marketing programs
• Direct the media buy with brokers, publications, and magazine and trade activity.
• Collaborates with sales on customer programs and initiatives
• Reviews changes in promotion strategies by market with SVP and relevant peers
• Coordinates with supply team on lead times, inventory planning. Etc. to support key launches
• Works with purchasing to order packaging or POP materials, ensure timely delivery
• Collaborates with SVP on annual sales communication, dealer communication.
• Development of all NA marketing execution materials and annual brand materials.
Sales associate training and development (Using assets developed by the brands)
• A key point of contact with the product marketing teams
• Ensure that key messaging elements such as value proposition, competitive differentiation, market segmentation and overall outreach strategies are effectively executed and communicated effectively to the CSG sales organization.
• Design and execute an effective mechanism to train across product, sales and business topics. (i.e. Classroom, field clinics, etc.)
Develop and execute retail merchandising schemes
• Collaborate with sales to identify high potential targets
• Collaborate with visual merchandising to ensure feasibility of designs
• Coordinate with visual merchandising installations, oversee project timelines and commitments
NA consumer experience
• Product trial (demo program at retail, events, etc.)
• Drive conversion to retail
Special Projects; trade show and events
• Plans and participates in trade show events
• Assists SVPin executing special projects related to sales programs and opportunities
• Assists SVPin planning and preparing for annual sales meetings
Team Management and Development
• Defines and updates job descriptions for direct reports
• Meets regularly with direct reports to set goals and monitor progress toward goals
• Gives ongoing feedback and conducts formal performance evaluations
• Assists direct reports in defining career goals and seeking opportunities for development
• Delivers or provides for training and resources required for direct reports to perform their roles
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, with a minimum of 7 years overall sales management experience
• Relevant experience in the Independent bike dealer network, sporting goods industry
• Strong product knowledge of bicycle, AHA, and the US market
• Experience in media planning, buying, and execution
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Must possess good interpersonal/relationship skills – must cooperate and communicate effectively with co-workers, employees, managers and external parties.
• Knowledge of computers required including knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook & Power Point.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
• Must be able to effectively work with a diversity of cultures.
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as required
• Must be able to move bicycles, displays and demonstrate product use.
• Must be able to travel including multiple days of travel
• Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time
