Director of Support (Central Region)

Our Director of Supports are accountable for overseeing the operations of the funeral home(s) and/or cemetery location(s) in their region to support the growth of the business and Carriage’s overall mission.
Work with Managing Partner to customize development and implementation of long-range market share growth strategies.
Monitor execution of specific action by month, quarter, and year to ensure effectiveness and drive accountability of measurable results.
Provide regular input to Regional Partner on location progress toward Standards.
Selection and development of talent to maintain Company right quality of staff.
Assist Managing Partner with documentation and communication for difficult employee discussions prior to termination. Coordinate with HR as necessary.
Recommend appropriate staff training and ensure that the Managing Partner is driving the effective use of training to produce measurable results.
Coach and support Managing Partner on the use of frequent staff meetings to motivate and drive employee performance.
Support Managing Partner on developing an effective staffing level and on scheduling staff schedules to maximize productivity.
Monitor and recommend modifications to the prices of services and merchandise to increase revenue.
Mentors Managing Partner assuring full understanding of Standards.
Assist Managing Partner in creation or revision of location merchandising plan.
Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the industry.
Mentor Managing Partners to ensure Standards are being met or exceeded.
Monitors relationship between Managing Partner and vendors and/or suppliers.
Reviews dashboard weekly to identify any potential issues with a specific locations.
Review requests for location repairs and upgrades to prioritize capital expenditures.
Makes recommendations or decisions that usually affect the assigned division, but may at times affect operations, services, individuals, or activities of others outside of the assigned division.
Ability to deal with problems that are complex varied and only mildly related to those seen before. Must be able to develop new and nonstandard approaches.
Requires regular external contacts to carry out organization programs and to explain specialized matters, or work requiring continuing personal contact with the public involving the enforcement of laws, ordinances, policies and procedures.
Maintain a consistent “field” presence to ensure professional and effective operations.
Understand and monitor compliance of Federal, state, and local laws and regulations for operation of a cemetery, cemetery sales, crematory, and funeral home.
Develop and implement marketing plans to expand exposure of the location in the community.
Meet with potential new business acquisitions to assist in promoting Company.
Encourage the development of new service offerings; work directly with Managing Partners to execute.
Other duties as assigned.
College degree or some college required preferably in a business discipline
Minimum of 10-15 years’ management experience; Cemetery, Sales & Funeral Home
Travel is required.
Ability to compute discount, interest, profit and loss; commission, markup and selling price
Able to read, write and speak English fluently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) required.
Detail oriented and ability to work in a team setting.
Ability to meet daily deadlines and perform tasks in a timely manner.
Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations.
Ability to be a self-starter and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
Maintains a positive attitude and working environment through organization and communication.
