Responsibilities
Role Purpose
The Director, IT Strategy will facilitate the development of technology that is aligned with and enables the business strategy. The Director, IT Strategy will oversee market assessments, sizing of new opportunities, specific company evaluations, and partnership structures. This position is a critical leadership role within the NBCU Technology organization with high visibility and a significant impact on the overall business. The role will also influence and work closely with other technology and business stakeholders across enterprise applications, infrastructure, product development, and business enablement.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop, deliver and maintain technology to increase the speed of delivery and enable a reduction in operating costs, enable future business processes and allow technological change to be implemented rapidly with minimum cost and disruption.
• Assist executive leadership in translating strategic objectives into concrete metrics and targets.
• Work with other key technology leaders to develop targets and standards, which include the definition and agreement of business processes, data, applications and infrastructure.
• Collaborate in the creation and then enforces the use of standards for all major initiatives.
• Facilitate the development, and gain buy-in to a comprehensive IT strategy roadmap that is aligned with the business and business strategy.
• Work independently and lead business unit resources in critical strategic projects including market assessments and sizing of new opportunities, specific company evaluations, partnership structures and terms.
• Coordinate development of strategies with other organizations in Technology function; identify opportunities for synergy.
• Create solid business cases for technology projects.
• Understand the business strategy and link benefits of supporting technology to clear business outcomes.
• Work with other key technology leaders to develop target standards, which include the definition and agreement of business processes, data, applications and infrastructure.
• Coordinate technology investments to achieve business value through technology investments. Foster innovation in applying new technologies.
• Unlock strategic opportunities across the Technology’s network of partners; work to strengthen the cohesiveness across Comcast and NBCU’s operating units.
• Identify new trends, categories, concepts and businesses that will profitably grow the organization in alignment with the strategic plan. Communicate findings effectively both verbally and in written form including end-to-end, polished, executive-ready presentations.
• Assess fit, feasibility, and financial impact of new strategic investments and work on variety of high level special projects, including competitive due diligence.
• Influence, motivate, and develop technology talent across the organization.

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management
• 8-10 years of experience in strategic planning
• A strong track record of translating business requirements into technology solutions.
• Proven experience defining and communicating directions, especially to executives and business stakeholders.
• Exceptional influencing and communications skills are required.
• Ability to accurately assess longer term implications of changing business models with simultaneous focus on optimizing the short term.
