General Description of Position:
Responsible for assisting in the day to day management of the campus human resources function, with specific accountabilities in staffing and recruitment, College policies and procedures, legal compliance, compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, training and development, and HRIS. Primarily responsible for the management of human resources programs that support College goals and objectives.
In collaboration with Executive Director of Human Resources (EDHR), manages the day to day operational HR activities in support of the campus with the support of the Human Resources Assistant.
In coordination with EDHR, implements employment policies and operating procedures in conformance with guidelines established by the College.
Directs the recruitment process for campus faculty and staff positions and conducts new employee orientation and on-boarding.
Maintains all employee records and files, including appropriate salary, classification, position management, evaluation, and benefits data. Reviews and monitors employee data entered into HRIS to ensure validity. Provides counsel and advice to campus supervisors and employees on employee relations and performance issues.
In collaboration with EDHR and Systems Office Talent Development, implements employee professional development and training initiatives and tracks employee completion
Reviews the annual Affirmative Action Plan and establishes appropriate goals. Assists in promoting diversity initiatives within the campus.
In collaboration with EDHR and Systems Office HR, administers campus workers’ compensation, risk management, leaves of absence, benefits, and wellness program.
Works collaboratively with EDHR, the College General Counsel’s office and Systems Office Human Resources on employment-related matters
Directs the completion of annual performance reviews and annual review of job descriptions.
Serves/participates on campus and systems office committees.
Plans and oversees the annual campus Employee Recognition Program. Takes action authorized during Executive Director's absence, and uses initiative and sound judgment to see that matters requiring attention are referred to delegated authority or handled in a manner so as to minimize the effect of the absence.
Composes correspondence and reports and routes for any required authorization/signatures.

Bachelor’s degree required
Three years’ work experience in a human resources department required; professional supervisory experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources administration required.
Must be adept at resolving individual and group conflicts, and have excellent problem solving, decision making and written and oral communication skills.
Requires a highly self-motivated individual with demonstrated leadership abilities and hands on approach to analyze, develop and administer HR programs in a complex organization.
Must demonstrate the ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
Must have a strong customer service focus and service delivery approach and be willing and able to travel.
Master’s degree or related professional certification preferred.
