Align is in growth mode and we are continuing to invest in building a world-class HR organization. Accordingly, we are looking to hire a Director of Human Resources to serve as the key strategic business partner for the US Commercial team. He/she will lead an HR team and drive the talent agenda of a $1B market growing quickly. This business minded, solutions-oriented leader will focus on developing the vision, strategy and deployment of the vision with the business leaders to include organization assessment, development and effectiveness, talent management, and employee engagement. He/she will report solid-line to the VP, Americas HR and dotted-line to the VP & General Manager, United States. The Director, HR will be a key adviser to executive management in influencing the strategic direction of the US business.
In this role, you will…
Lead the HR team for the US commercial organization including two HR Business Partners and influence numerous extended HR team members supporting the US
Work as a key member of the senior leadership team in developing the organization’s vision and HR strategies to support business strategy/goals/initiatives. Translate business strategy and objectives into goals and workforce plan in alignment with business imperatives
Facilitate organizational diagnosis and metrics to drive organizational effectiveness through talent and organizational capabilities and culture. Act as a catalyst for change; guide and direct organizational design, development and change management solutions
Develop a solid strategic human resource plan to support and drive the needs of the business including attracting, developing and retaining top talent. Identify opportunities for process improvements
Keep abreast of industry market trends as well as and functional trends, and leverage these insights to develop appropriate global HR solutions
Evaluate work requests from across the organization and determine prioritization in collaboration with the business and in alignment with the HR model
Help guide HR COE owners in the shaping of appropriate and innovative HR solutions for the client group
Maintain knowledge of changes in HR law and important issues which could affect the business and shares knowledge with business and HR teams
Coach senior leaders on complex leadership and HR issues including development and talent performance and issues which could have the potential to create a competitive advantage for the business. Build organizational capability through development and/or facilitation of appropriate senior leadership team (i.e., team effectiveness, goal development and alignment, manager capability, etc.)
In this role, you’ll need …
Bachelor’s degree in business or other related field
Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in multiple aspects of Human Resources, including Company least 5 as an HR Business Partner
Experience leading a team
Experience supporting VP or SVP level clients and driving full talent lifecycle actions for an organization
Experience influencing without authority, preferably in a matrixed organization
Ability to communicate complex information in an understandable, organized, concise manner. Ability to organize detailed data into information, communicate the business story, and explain data for varying audiences
Ability to function well in ambiguous situations and unstructured environments, recognizing when it is appropriate to introduce more structure and process
Ability to gain trust, respect, and support through business knowledge and functional competence
Proven consultative HR experience, with a strong bias for action and results
Track record of establishing a positive reputation for working effectively across different levels of an organization
Willingness to travel 15 - 20%. Some international travel may be required.
