Global Banking & Markets (“GBAM”)
includes corporate banking, investment banking and sales trading. The group provides services to middle-market and large corporations, government entities and institutional investors. These services include mergers and acquisition advice, equity and debt capital raising, corporate lending, sales and trading in fixed income, commodities, currency and equities, risk management, research, and liquidity and payments management.
Global Custody and Agency Services (“GCAS”) is a business unit within Global Banking and Markets under the Equities line of business. GCAS products include Custody, Escrow and Issuing and Paying Agent services.
GCAS has been building out a global product offering of custody, IPA and Escrow services to GBAM clients. A key strategy is to leverage the universal banking model; collaborating with Investment Bank, Corporate Bank, and Global Transaction Services teams to provide a unified end-to-end advisory, funding and settlement solution to our clients. GCAS serves to deepen relationships with GBAM clients and targets and to enhance profitability of client relationships
GCAS offers a global product offering across all regions which leverages the existing Company infrastructure and footprint; maintaining a close relationship with banking partners in each region alongside a consolidated product, platform and servicing model.
GCAS has an opening for a Business Head covering activities in North and Latin America and as part of the global management team.
Oversight of all business activities in the region with an emphasis on Governance and Control, P&L oversight, external regulatory relationships and internal control partners
Represent GCAS within Company in the Americas including representation to regional GBAM management and partners, presentation of strategy or resource requests and ensuring GCAS is represented at any appropriate forums
Understand the GCAS global strategy and implement in-region with a particular emphasis on our risk appetite and sustainable growth
Be a member of the global management team and contribute to the overall management of GCAS including close cooperation with peers in other regions, global product / platform and global business development heads.
Oversee delivery of services in-region from support partners including operations, legal, compliance, risk etc.
Management and development of associates under direct reporting line and coordination with peers in relation to indirect reporting teams in-region
Has management responsibility for more complex/strategic product(s). Develops, sponsors and/or influences the strategies and tactics across functional groups and/or within a product group. Drives innovative idea generation for the products under their management. May act as an individual contributor or may lead a team to ensure that the product management effort is integrated with sales, technology, implementation, and servicing. Has responsibility for full marketing cycle for specific product categories, as well as financial responsibilities which include management of the P&L for their product (s). Has extensive technical or functional knowledge of product(s) managed. Products managed are generally more complex than those managed by less senior level product managers.
Demonstrate knowledge and experience of governance, control or regulatory environment with 10 years banking or markets experience
Knowledge of the banking industry in the region (within Company or similar)
Some familiarity with the GCAS product set, or similar product type into a broader banking franchise
Understanding of wider GBAM products and organization
Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to distill key information in a concise manner to a broad audience
Ability to influence and coordinate multiple internal stakeholders to support the product offering. In particular, experience acting within complex organisations across front & back office and support partners is preferable
Demonstrate an ability to be a self-starter and to be willing to develop initiatives and take responsibility to see through to implementation
Willingness to work within a flexible organisational culture which expects and allows team members to contribute beyond their immediate area of responsibility
Analytical skills, attention to detail, inquisitive nature, problem solving and critical thinking capabilities an advantage
Bachelor’s degree required
