The US OTT Technology team is seeking a Director, Engineering to join Company’s Direct-to-Consumer organization. This role will be a seasoned leader who will partner with the business and technology / engineering teams to further the creation of world-class digital capabilities at NBCU & strengthen our position as a digital leader in the media industry.
Build a service architecture vision that is highly available & resilient
Drive engineering architecture discussions with Product leaders
Develop a team of engineers to continuously improve, through coaching, mentoring & management support
Grow the technical expertise of your team around quality, scalability, performance & fault tolerance
Own and deliver the technical roadmap for your team in line with the vision and business / product requirements
Work closely with the recruitment team to hire and onboard engineers
Anticipate brand & business needs; have a strong understanding of current and future technology trends
Facilitate collaboration with other engineering teams, product owners and designers to solve interesting & challenging opportunities / problems
Minimum ten (10) years’ experience building products/applications/services as a full stack engineer
Minimum five (5) years’ experience managing multiple agile engineering teams
Minimum five (5) years of expertise with a good range of front-end technologies and/or mobile development
Strong experience with building consumer facing highly available (99.999%), scalable and resilient services & systems is required
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP preferred)
