The Director Engineering - Analytics Platform with be tasked with the challenge of engineering a platform that can manage all the structured and big data generated from serving billions of listener transactions. This role will be key in ensuring we capture data from diverse sources and move it through the analytical pipeline to be leveraged by internal and external customers, transactional systems and other partners. This platform will have to be highly resilient, cloud based and able to process data in near real time.
As the Director Engineering - Analytics Platform will:
• Help develop and drive the strategic vision for iHeart’s next generation Analytics Platform.
• Recruit, inspire and grow a team of top engineering talent with specialization in building analytical pipelines, data lakes and high-performing SQL/NoSQL engines and BI Tools in the cloud.
• Be the main contributor for developing the technical roadmap that aligns with business needs and priority.
• Drive execution of platform and corresponding business features roadmap.
• Establish a high-performing Agile / Continuous Integration engineering practice.
• Ensure the analytic platform is performant, resilient and well-aligned with business needs.
• Manage budgets, staffing and strategic engineering and organizational initiatives.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define project scope, timelines and resources.
• Cultivate strong cross-functional partnerships with peers and stakeholders across the company.
• Instill strong CI/CD and Agile practices across the teams.
• Continually seek ways to optimize and improve all operational aspects of how teams organize, execute, measure and improve.
Requirements:
• B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Minimum 10 years experience leading software development teams
• 3+ years experience delivering big data capabilities leveraging on premise and cloud based solutions, preferably on AWS.
• Experience implementing, leveraging and operating modern BI tools such as Qlik, Tableau.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of and experience with big data technologies such as HDFS, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, noSQL, Kafka and etc.
• Experience developing real-time analytics via Spark a plus.
• Experience with Machine Learning concepts, tools and libraries and implementation thereof a plus.
• 7+ years experience working with traditional data warehouse environments and corresponding tools (Informatica, SSIS, Teradata, Exadata, SQL Server, etc.)
• Experience working in a service oriented architecture both for sourcing and delivering data
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
