Leads engineering and customer supply chain team. 20% of time allotted. Provides leadership and guidance to the customer supply chain manager and supply chain engineers. Provides coaching, mentoring, and performance management for team members. Ensures team understands organizational KPI's and other relevant metrics. Drive team culture of continuous improvement and collaboration through process improvement. Leads multiple large projects while supporting and ensuring other team projects are completed in a successful and timely manner. These cross-functional project teams include members of it, operations, production planning, logistics, safety, and quality.
Conduct optimization studies to support the network of 26 manufacturing sites and a fleet of 400 drivers across the united states. Make data-driven decisions based on real-time analytics provided by supply chain engineers. 20% of time allotted. Lane rate optimization. Plant network optimization. Driver optimization. Inventory storage optimization. Studies to improve customer service levels.
Conduct best practice studies and create subsequent standard operating procedures for 26 manufacturing sites. 10% of time allotted. Identifies value chain best practices / improvements. Leads the network deployment of new/ improved standard operating procedures. Ensures key stakeholders are adequately trained in order to demonstrate comprehension and enable rapid deployment. Establish sustainability through ongoing training and follow up.
Maintain database for logistics scorecards. 10% of time allotted. Oversees a balanced scorecard for inbound/outbound logistics to identify: service failures; identify root cause; set targets; track improvement efforts.
Develop and/or optimize customer supply chain management by driving efficient and effective operational excellence through: 40% of time allotted. Identify lowest cost/highest value solutions for new customers. Secure functional requirements to onboard new customers. Lead implementation efforts around said new customers. Collaborate with the product development engineer team to optimize packaging, shipment solutions, as well as service offerings. Demonstrates ability to collaborate with customers and incorporate feedback into key decisions.
Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Business or History or any related field. Do you have 18 months of experience in the advertised position or in a related role? Must be willing to travel throughout the United States. Must have comprehensive understanding of inbound supply chains. Experience with import/export and customs matters, including HS tariff codes, customs documents. Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in mattress construction, design and components.
