We’re looking for highly talented and dedicated Development Director who will thrive in fast paced, ever changing development and live service environment. As a Development Director within the Spearhead Studio you’ll be responsible for bringing a cross functional group of talent individuals together to deliver on a project and operational deliverables.
Key responsibilities
• Timely delivery of the product launches and regular updates in a live services game environment.
• Maintains regular communication with team and key stakeholders to provide project status updates; encourages others to express their point of view.
• Builds and maintains effective working schedules to ensure achievement of project development milestones.
• Manages change requests and obtains appropriate approvals; advises key stakeholders on the impact of each change request on project schedule, budget, and resources.
• Provides supervision to the development team including training and coaching staff for improved performance, evaluating performance and recognizing achievements.
Skills and experience
• a Degree in Computer Science or equivalent; PMP Certification an asset.
• 6-8 years of project management and/or team leadership experience directing multiple disciplines
• Software development experience or other related experience;
• Strong listening and communication skills - able to communicate team and project goals in a clear, concise and strategic manner.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills - able to work on complex problems where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
• Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Able to interpret design documents and project schedules to establish and communicate scope.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite of tools, Confluence, Hansoft and JIRA
• Strong people management skills including the ability to clearly communicate performance expectations and provide regular feedback to improve employee performance; capable of managing performance and professional development of direct reports.
• Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, including establishing project plan, determining task dependencies, and assigning tasks to team.
• An avid gamer with a passion for creating AAA titles for the industry leader.
• Proven industry experience in a management capacity (Producer, Project Manager or Development Director) on commercially shipped games with development challenges
• Experience with managing live service games is a bonus.
• Native level Korean language ability, and business level English
