Interest rate derivatives are a key component of Company's expanding capital markets platform, and the firm continues to invest and enhance its derivative capabilities. The team is currently comprised of 22 product specialists marketing derivative products to corporate, commercial, real estate, specialty finance, wealth management and community bank clients.
The derivatives marketing associate will play a critical role on a rapidly growing team and will have the opportunity for significant career and personal development in an energetic and demanding environment.
Job Functions:
- Work closely with senior marketers and relationship managers to identify and market derivative products to the bank's current clients and prospects.
- Serve as a key contact for current customers, with seamless client coverage when senior marketers are traveling.
- Prepare marketing presentations, including current market commentary, discussion of hedging products and applications, as well as indicative pricing.
- Structure, price, and execute customer derivative transactions.
- Analyze SEC filings to provide an overview of a client's capital structure and current derivative activity; assist in identifying derivative opportunities.
- Coordinate with credit, legal, and operations teams to ensure timely approval and execution of credit lines, ISDA documentation, trade confirmations, and payments.
- Prepare and present market commentary during Company's weekly capital markets call and various banking division team calls.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Econometrics or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Three to five years of derivatives or related experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- MBA and/or CFA preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years prior experience on a fixed-income derivatives sales desk.
- Knowledge of fixed income mathematics and pricing of derivative applications, including swaps, swaptions, caps, floors, and treasury locks.
- Familiarity with Dodd-Frank regulations as they apply to interest rate derivatives.
- Solid foundation of economics and finance theory; well-versed in current economic conditions and outlook including monetary policy, growth/inflation, and the current interest rate environment.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
- Well-developed analytical skills.
