Job Introduction
We have an exciting Delivery Manager opportunity within the Company Children�s department.
The Company Children�s department develops and supports third parties in the creation of innovative, engaging digital experiences for children. Through its two websites and a range of apps it provides a trusted environment which is enriching, enabling and relevant to the under 12s. Our products seek to entertain, inform and empower children, adding real value to their lives.
Role Responsibility
Manage a major project or a portfolio of projects, with responsibility for the project teams and delivery of project outcomes. Responsibilities and accountabilities will differ depending on the domain and methods of delivery, but may typically include responsibility for:
• A major project (with a duration of up to 24 months OR >100 man-months of implementation effort); OR
• Management of a portfolio of repeatable projects, related by their domain (i.e. new broadcast facilities);
• Projects budgets, which are measured in £10mâ��s, with line management responsibility for approx. 10+ staff.
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
• A recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APMQ, MSP, Scrum Master)
• Extensive and demonstrable experience in leading and managing large complicated (multifaceted) projects.
• Demonstrable track record of successful project delivery (including leading teams, budgeting, planning, quality management, problem solving, reporting, managing risk).
• Expert knowledge of the project lifecycle, its products, techniques, appropriate methodologies and approaches (e.g. Agile, waterfall).
• Role model for good practice in all aspects of project management.
• Excellent and well-practiced communication (verbal, written, listening), inter-personal and influencing skills.
• Demonstrable experience in building successful teams, line managing and developing individuals.
• Confident in effectively communicating and reaching agreement with difficult stakeholders,
• navigating ambiguous, changeable, and complex environments to achieve desired outcomes.
• Experienced in developing business cases and supporting delivery plans.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures, including procurement, contract management, environment, and health and safety.
• Use of Microsoft Office tools for analysis, planning and reporting including MS Excel and Project, and expertise in presenting complex data to inform and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
Desirable
• Has managed a minimum of three projects with a budget of £2m+ and at least 10 direct reports.
• Expertise and experience of the infrastructure in media, IT or telecoms sectors and detailed
• knowledge of traditional linear broadcast and on-line technologies.
• Experience of administration of a large department and of managing change programmes.
