The Data Management Manager is responsible for leading the documentation of metadata for data elements related to critical business operation processes, oversight of data quality issues through identification and resolution, evaluating data use and privacy, and assisting in development of tools and strategies for data management processes. Managers are also responsible for guiding analysts in performing tasks, and reviewing analysis and documentation spanning multiple systems or processes. Managers provide oversight and feedback on the quality of work in the department. Collaborates with business partners and technology to assess and mitigate data related operational risks in areas of use, security, privacy and quality. Data Management Managers will help improve data quality and consistency, and reduce operational risk by documenting metadata information, analyzing process controls and root cause, coordinating activities to support problem resolution, and developing tools and metrics to support processes, as needed. Data Management Managers are responsible for understanding metadata, usage, standards and quality for specific data elements.
Data Quality Issue Analysis Managers direct junior and senior analysts in the gathering and assessment of data measurements to research and evaluate issues related to data quality across multiple lines of business.
Intermediate MS Office Suite Skills
Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of basic query writing and execution using SQL or other recognized data analysis tools.
Bachelor’s degree or related equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 7 years banking or finance related experience.
Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in data usage, process analysis, process improvement, business analysis or data sciences.
Advanced oral and written communication skills.
Advanced problem solving and analytical skills.
Preferred / Complementary
Operational business knowledge of processes, data and technology platforms.
Business or Data Degree concentration preferred.
Six Sigma or Root Cause analytics experience.
