About the company
The Atlantic has, for 158 years, been a rebel in the media space. We’ve never been afraid to challenge the status quo, from advocating for abolitionism—when it was still an unpopular idea—to exploring whether junk food might be the modern cure for obesity. And our creative marketing group, Atlantic Re:think, is no different: we create branded content and integrated marketing campaigns that seek to redefine what’s possible.
Job description
The Creative Strategist role will join a small but fast-paced branded content team with a scrappy attitude and a love for the creative process. He/she will play an integral role in conceiving content campaigns for a wide range of advertisers. The position will report to the Director of Creative Strategy.
Responsibilities include:
• Conceiving unique, original, best-in-class branded content, marketing, and advertising campaigns that align with both The Atlantic’s sensibilities and the advertiser’s objectives
• Assisting in client pitch meetings
• Copywriting and light designing of Atlantic Re:think materials, aimed at communicating creative marketing programs to advertisers
• Contributing to internal thought leadership and team-building efforts of Atlantic Re:think
• Identifying strategic partnerships that further the creative output of Atlantic Re:think
The ideal candidate has:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills coupled with a creative, unconventional mind
• Knowledge of and passion for the digital media space and The Atlantic brand
• The ability to make decisions in real-time with maturity, poise, and “grace under pressure”
• Outstanding record of academic and professional achievement
• Background/experience in copywriting a plus
