Cross-Border Risk: is the risk that a non-US government’s actions may impair Citi’s ability to obtain payment on a claim, or to access the firm’s investment in a branch or subsidiary. These non-US government actions may include exchange controls and/or restrictions on the remittance of funds or goods.
The Country and Public Sector Risk team within ICG Risk is seeking a Country Risk Senior Officer at the SVP level who will support efforts to manage Cross-Border Risk in Citi.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Company, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Respond to cross border limit approval requests from franchises and global businesses by preparing analytics and developing recommendations for Head of Cross Border Risk Management
Appropriately engage with business and risk managers, including Regional Chief Risk Officers, in discussions on cross border related topics.
Participate in Cross Border Risk Policy review and conduct periodical revision of Cross Border Product Programs
Provide support and help timely address cross border related inquiries.
Proactively propose recommendations on changes in cross border limits, triggered by deteriorated risk profile of the country (XBRR / WL status), monitor performance against previously set triggers
Develop analytic tools to support the cross border limit approval process
Oversee development and implementation of cross border technology projects.
Participate in various cross border related projects.
Stay updated on key macroeconomic and political changes in covered countries, and proactively initiate discussion on potential changes in internal country Watchlist status, ratings and rating outlook.
5+ years of experience, including Credit Risk Management and complex structures for institutional clients.
Highly motivated, team oriented, organized.
Excellent communication skills in order to negotiate internally and externally.
Demonstrated project management skills and the ability to manage several large programs simultaneously.
Excellent track record of effectively assessing and managing competing priorities.
