We are looking for a Cost Accounting Specialist to join our team!This individual will support multiple aspects of product costing and inventory accounting in a manufacturing environment. This position is key to the maintaining and monitoring of inventory costs and ensuring the accuracy of financial cost information.
Perform regular updates of standard costs for various Company subsidiaries
Gather and analyze cost data to investigate discrepancies in inventory such as purchase price variances
Generate reports and calculations relating to inventory, material costs, and labor and overhead rates
Monitor cost and inventory transactions to ensure physical inventory and costing accuracy
Build strong relationships with the purchasing department to ensure effective communication
Perform General ledger account analysis and reconciliation related to inventory and cost accounts
Assist with the monthly accounting close process
Understand intercompany transaction flows by inventory location in various jurisdictions
Calculate intercompany transfer pricing and answer related questions
Understand BOM (bill of material) and routing cost roll-up functions
Provide world-wide business support to operations and financial management teams
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or another field relevant for the successful performance of the essential functions of this job description
Must possess a minimum of 2 year of accounting or finance experience in a large corporate environment.
Must demonstrate knowledge of basic accounting theory and methods
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Must be detail-oriented, organized, with demonstrated analytical ability
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Experience handling special projects
Must possess strong computer skills using Microsoft Office applications (specifically Microsoft Excel)
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Cost Accounting Experience
Experience with Oracle ERP applications
