Overview and Responsibilities
The Publicity Coordinator at TV Land (NYC) reports directly to the Manager of Corporate Communications, who is based in NY. The coordinator must have exemplary time management skills, be an excellent writer, and know how to conduct him- or herself around talent, journalists and high-level executives. A positive attitude is a must along with close attention to detail and an ability to multitask. The coordinator must also have a love of TV and all things entertainment, as he or she will join a team whose pop culture trivia knowledge is endless!
Job responsibilities include:
• Compose media alerts, press releases and talent bios
• Pitch various media for coverage of TV Land original series and events
• Book talent travel and accommodations, and create talent travel and press itineraries
• Compile press clips, compose executive memos and create PowerPoint presentations
• Help maintain press site and press contact/mailing list
• Assist in assigning day-to-day activities for interns
• Occasionally accompany talent to press appearances or connect talent for remote interviews
• Assist with event organization and logistics for tentpoles and premiere parties
• Some invoicing and expense reports
• Some travel required for events and premieres
• Some support of the communications team overall
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-2 years of PR/Communications experience (in-house preferred)
• High-level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Basic social media skills and understanding (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
Additional Qualifications
• Must be an exceptional writer with a firm grasp of grammar and sentence structure
• Exemplary time management skills
• Must have the ability to operate under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop preferred
• Must have the ability to travel occasionally
• Comfortable and confident interacting with senior executives
