Job-Specific Responsibilities
Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching Refresh Project:
- Coordinate MKT meetings and assignments to keep the project on track
- Plan and facilitate weekly team meetings
- Create Qualtrics forms for the piloting of MKT items and oversee quality control of new items
- Manage work of support staff, students and part-time project staff
- Collaborate with Project Manager and PI on final development of forms in Qualtrics with corresponding scoring and tech reports
- With guidance and oversight from Project Manager and PI, schedule, distribute and check quality of work completed by staff, students, and part-time staff
- Contribute to the development of guidelines for project processes, project formatting conventions, and improving item content
- Communicate with external partners and facilitate communication between team members and all external partners
- Gather and maintain data for and assist in preparing annual NSF reports
Mathematical Quality for Instruction (MQI) Coaching services and MQI Coaching+ research study:
- Complete MQI Training and MQI Coach Training
- Collaborate with video editor, Project Assistant, and Project Manager to add new content to the MQI video library
- Listen to coaching conversations and professional learning communities to inform feedback to participants and revisions for MQI Coaching+ materials
- Support in monitoring, adapting and executing the MQI Coaching + materials and protocols
- Support Project Manager with MQI Coaching recruitment, preparation and execution of services.
This position is grant funded through May 31, 2021 with a possibility of extension based on funding and the Center's needs.
Basic Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience working in a research setting, and/or teaching mathematics or coaching mathematics teachers
- Associates degree
Additional Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
- Very attentive to detail and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Competency using a variety of computer programs, especially Microsoft suite and Google docs
- High performance on the Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching (MKT) assessment
- Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred
- Degree in mathematics, or hard science and/or education preferred
- Experience with Quick Base or other database software preferred
- Experience with Qualtrics survey platform preferred
