The EVP of Acquisitions & Productions for Focus Features is seeking a Coordinator. This position, located in Company City, will act as the key administrative point person supporting the EVP and the creative department in constructing Focus’s slate of domestic and international acquisitions and productions.
You will act as they key communication point person between the department and key departments within Focus Features, Company Pictures, talent agencies, producers and other internal and external stakeholders across multiple offices and time zones.
You will take lead/oversee all production and acquisitions special projects as needed.
You will effectively manage all the needs of your supervisor while balancing very strict demands of high level filmmakers and studio executives.
You will oversee all administrative duties such as rolling calls, maintaining phone sheets, scheduling meetings, coordinating travel, assisting with expense reports and personal assistance.
You will support the department in preparing the executives for film festivals from inception to wrap up including databasing lineups, handling the festival schedule, organizing festival meetings with talent, producers and sales companies.
You will travel to film festivals as needed to provide on the ground support.
You will read and screen materials, and will provide creative feedback to the team.
You will develop and maintain the department database to assist the office in maintaining tracking lists, talent tracking and screening calendars. You will also develop and maintain all other key information systems utilized by the department (PSR, departmental memos, etc).
You will assign script coverage to our Story Readers, and will oversee our script coverage allocation system to track delivery and accuracy of their reports to ensure materials are covered in a timely manner.
You will supervise the department’s interns.
Minimum 2 years relevant experience supporting a senior level executive.
Must be able to work extended weekday hours and on weekends as needed
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Must be able to anticipate problems and handle conflicts in advance.
Must be proficient in Outlook and Filemaker.
Thorough knowledge of major film agents, agencies, writers and directors
