The Director of Store Operations will develop the vision, strategy and initiatives to drive consistent operational excellence across all Company owned stores in North America. The Director will oversee all functions within the Store Operations team to include Training and Experience, Communications, Store Process and Tools and Labor Optimization. They will implement store centric solutions that assist stores in achieving business and people goals aligned with the North America and Global Direct to Consumer (DTC) strategy and priorities. The Store Operations Director will be a part of the North America DTC leadership team that develops and executes the North America strategy. The Director will also collaborate with business partners to define and measure business goals and metrics to drive success across the DTC organization. They will collaborate and partner with enabling functions and the Global DTC organization to prioritize and plan annual initiatives. Most importantly, as a leader in the organization, the Director will be responsible for creating, coaching and inspiring a high performing Store Operations team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Develop Store Operations strategy in collaboration with DTC North America and Global DTC teams to drive operational excellence and premium experiences in Company stores
• Partner with field and cross functional leadership to identify opportunities to evolve and elevate current tools and programs. Identify and measure the execution of established best practices to drive consistent operational excellence in stores
• Provide leadership to implement store tools, programs and platforms effectively. Inform Global teams on gaps and opportunities to influence future priorities
• Identify and leverage key operational metrics that drive revenue, probability and a premium consumer experience. Report results to key stakeholders and influence action plans that drive improvement
• Lead a Store Communications function to ensure the right information reaches stores at the right time. Lead the budget, planning and execution of the annual Store Manager Conference (SMC)
• Lead the Training and Experience function to develop the skills, knowledge and capabilities of store teams to ensure they are equipped and empowered to deliver a premium consumer experience and world-class service. Create the delivery strategy, implementation and success measurement for all Direct to Consumer (DTC) training programs
• Lead the Labor Optimization function to drive effective payroll budgets, forecasts and reporting to optimize labor and drive efficient use of resources in stores. Ongoing management of payroll budget
• Lead the cross functional store opening and remodel process to drive alignment across teams and the successful execution of projects on time
• Partner with Nike Loss Prevention to implement and maintain programs and platforms that create safe and profitable stores, protecting people, profit and brand
• Partner with DTC Technology to monitor, identify and solve issues related to store platforms and systems. Collaborate on the strategic approach to assess and determine existing and emerging technologies that can enhance and positively impact the growth of retail
• Lead, coach, drive and inspire a high preforming team. Define individual goals and objectives for direct reports aligned to DTC and Company strategy and priorities. Prioritize and measure team workload
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Strategy or related field
• 2 additional years of experience may be acceptable in lieu of degree level education
• 8+ years of Retail Operations experience. Corporate and Field experience preferred
• Experience in the following areas: Loss Prevention, Labor/Wage Management, Store Communications, Store Policy and Procedures, Retail Systems (POS, Mobile Technology)
• Ability to create and manage department budgets
• Proven leadership to drive results through others. Coach, lead and inspire teams to win
• Ability to network and leverage internal and external resources
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence business partners and stakeholders
• Strong presentation capabilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong project management skills. Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time
