We have an immediate opening for a Procurement Contracts Business Development contributor to support the AWS World Wide Public Sector team focusing on Public Sector customers within the State & Local Government (SLG) space. Come be a part of something innovative - you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of Company’s utility computing web services (Company EC2, Company S3, Company RDS and other AWS services). Your responsibilities will include working with the internal Public Sector Sales Teams, Marketing teams, Partner Development teams (among others) to develop “winning business” or “pull through” strategies for partner held contract vehicles The primary focus of this role is to position and expand the scope of partner held contract vehicles for the purchase of cloud by SLG customers. The Contract BD Manager will align to regional AWS field sales and corresponding partner teams to close business at a rapid rate across the public sector.
Engage on strategic partner held contract vehicles to build and execute a plan to deliver broad contracting scope and position the vehicles to federal customers, drive demand and build pipeline, execute win strategy and win business.
Develop and manage the contract execution plan but will work cross functionally with key internal stakeholders (e.g. partner teams, sales teams, proposal team, service teams, legal, support, etc.) to position AWS and our partners to effectively execute and win the business
Develop demand generation strategies, win strategies, cloud friendly procurement approaches, technical discriminators, and innovative strategies working with AWS stakeholders and our partners
Navigate contracting vehicles and procedures and be a thought leader with respect to programmatic pursuit, proposal responses, win strategies, technical discriminators, and solutions providers.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time based on geography and seasonality of the business
5+ years of Sales, Business Development with Sales support and operational experience
2+ years of experience leveraging partners and resellers
BD, Sales or other comparable experience with knowledge and experience of SLED, particularly SLG customers
Experience executing multi-agency IDIQ type contracts.
Self-Motivated with a great sense of ownership, urgency and follow through
Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related preferred
Supreme organizational abilities
Proven experience managing multiple engagements with short timelines and multiple milestones
Excellent communication and writing skills
Ability to work with and in support of a Global Sales teams
Excellent communicator who can quickly earn the respect of the team and customers
Must have the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
