KCPQ-TV, the Tribune owned FOX affiliate in Seattle WA, has an immediate opening for the position of Content Manager to oversee the development and execution of news content on all platforms. We are looking for a true leader, who is an innovative thinker, passionate about news, experienced in local content and knows how to cover important stories to bring context and insight to our audience.
The content manager will work closely with the newsroom team to produce a consistent steam of local news on all platforms, assisting with the development of enterprise planning and manages all editorial aspects of content – from story generation to delivery.
KCPQ-TV is owned by Tribune Media which is the country’s largest combined independent broadcast station group and entertainment production studio, with 42 owned or operated broadcast stations, WGN America, Antenna TV, ThisTV, global web properties and meta-data businesses.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee all content planning for the newsroom including the development of short, medium and long range initiatives
• Work in tandem with news management to deliver content to all platforms
• Oversee the quality and angles of day to day content assignments
• Develop and plan quarterly and ongoing content projects in line with the newsroom initiatives
• Manage and maintain editorial news partnerships
• Track newsroom story assignments and ensure content is being delivered consistently to all platforms
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing a news editorial team and news content
• Excellent news judgment with a proven track record of leadership and the development of high quality content
• Strong local news knowledge, the ability to bring sense of urgency and insight to content initiatives
• Proven ability to work with news staff to coach them on finding unique elements to differentiate their content
• Degree in Journalism or related field
