The mission of the Car Sharing team is to reduce the cost of car ownership for Americans by matching owners of underused vehicles with individuals who would like to loan them convenient, affordable vehicles. Car Sharing is a strategic priority for the enterprise.
The purpose of this role is to more independently develop and execute upon the materials/events needed to support moderately complex communication plans that integrate with other business plans. Individuals in this role interact directly with internal clients and independently drive work within their work scope due to their interpersonal skills as well as knowledge of the business unit, Car Sharing.
Develops strategic communications plans and tactics
Leads portions of brainstorming sessions regarding root cause analysis of business issues and/or opportunities that lead to the development of Strategic Communications Plans.
Applies functional knowledge and business client specific knowledge to assist with the creation and execution of critical communications plans.
Leads moderately complex specific plan segments with consultations from others.
Develops initiative-based strategies and tactics for communications that are integrated with a full-blown strategic communications plan.
Develops client communications content
Builds content outlines and formats for multi-purpose items or those that are moderately complex to complex. Prepares publication materials, employee communications, newsletters, and informational materials for internal or external audiences.
Adapts communications approaches based on needs analysis. Coaches and probes business clients to extract data that needs to be communicated for moderately complex situations. Identifies/generates basic to moderately complex communication solutions and topic ideas to address client needs.
Leads content review for communications materials
Sets project timeframes for self and others based on project objectives.
Moves forward content approvals within scope of work to the client independently.
Determines own work priorities and timelines and integration with other timelines.
Coordinates and executes client communications meetings and events.
Develops and maintains effective partnerships
Designs, develops and executes moderate client communications meeting and events within an Area of Responsibility.
Identifies and secures speakers for events and coordinates schedules.
Provides strategic communications consulting and coaching to key clients
Establishes effective relationships within and across the team as well as with clients.
Develops and coordinates lines of communication and networks within the organization among employees.
Creates and accesses channels to get and to disseminate information.
Mentors others communication professional on simple to moderate tasks.
Identifies communications measures and metrics to ensure desired outcomes and alignment to business goals
Obtains metrics, analyzes results and prepares report for others.
Contributes ideas on metrics improvements.
Bachelors degree required in a communications related field (communications, journalism, marketing, English, etc.)
2-4 years combined internship or work experience in communications related role
General knowledge of Microsoft suite; intermediate knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
