Position Title: Clerk I Mailroom
Position Location: Salisbury, NC
Position Summary: Process all incoming/outgoing mail to its destination in the most effective and economical manner while ensuring good customer service. Ensure the processing and delivery of store mail including sign kits, order guides, and promotions (etc). Deliver mail and correspondence via shuttle van to post office, local company distribution centers, local retail locations and other locations as needed. Service our retail stores and corporate associates effectively and in a timely manner.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Pickup U.S. Mail at local Post Offices
Print, pickup and drop-off interoffice mail and reports for delivery to various locations.
Maintain overall condition and appearance of company vehicles (drive vehicles to scheduled maintenance appointments and yearly inspections)
Deliver and pick up various items for the company at outside businesses
Empty and sort contents of approximately 200 mailbags on a daily basis
Collect mail from in house mailboxes as well as mail drop off areas and sort accordingly (interoffice, USPS, store, etc.)
Fill mailbags daily with mail, reports, payroll, signs, and promotions for delivery to Distribution Centers
Use manual pallet jack and/or fork truck to sort, stack, store, retrieve and move freight on loading dock
Document location, date of arrival, department information of items stored on dock
Receive, scan, sign for and distribute all incoming freight from carriers, vendors, and retail stores on a daily basis
Update, sort and file store tags on a daily basis
Regular communication with trucking dept. on schedule changes to maintain consistent delivery status of times to all retail stores
Valid driver's license with a clean record
Excellent customer service and communication skills needed to work with the public and fellow associates to ensure effective delivery and service
Basic computer knowledge
Repetitive lifting up to 75lbs
Pushing of up to 200 lbs.
Ability to work in team\group atmosphere
Knowledge of the local area a plus
Skills and Abilities:
Proven time management skills
Ability to meet deadlines to ensure information reaches destination on time.
Ability to deliver mail in all weather conditions, time restrictions and traffic delays.
Ability to remember names and locations of approximately 1400 people to ensure prompt and correct delivery.
