Trade Finance is a credit based product which is highly complex and requires a significant amount of expertise. Whether we are providing a small value rental guarantee or $100mm financing transaction, our focus is on providing a first class service to our clients.
Candidates must have extensive knowledge and experience in supporting Trade related products. This role is situated on the Document Checking team, therefore extensive experience and knowledge of Commercial Letters of Credit is essential.
Serve as the main Letter of Credits operations representative providing complete customer service to clients; knowledge of advising, amendment, document examination, payment and all related communications under Letter of Credit. This role is within a deadline driven environment
-Check shipping documents against the terms of complex Commercial Letters of Credit and provide 2nd check and release payment.
Ensure a smooth workflow, review difficult cases, and expedite urgent transactions per SLA
Ensure that all transactions are processed in accordance with documented SOPs and comply with internal operating standards, with Customer Service Levels and with Industry Rules and Standards and Compliance
Ensure that all relevant Audit, Risk, Regulatory and ISO requirements are adhered to at all times
Maintain a client focused approach, engage team members in best practices, exercising sound judgment, based upon knowledge and experience, at all times.
To provide guidance to all staff on complex transactions, especially where new business is being introduced.
-Monitor the work flow queues and assign transactions for processing to the team
-Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
At least 5+ years’ experience in Letter of Credit processing, including Letter of Credit document examination is required
Thorough knowledge of UCP600, UCC 522, ISBP, Boycott Regulations, and OFAC compliant requirements including complex processing (i.e. Transfer, Back to Back LC, Collection, Standby LC and Country Specific documents).
Ability to follow standing procedures and understanding of clients instructions which may differ among transaction and client.
Ability to make independent decisions and utilize all available tools to minimize corporate and client risk
Self-motivated confident decision-maker with the ability to demonstrate leadership and establish credibility at a senior level.
Strong Trade product knowledge with the ability to analyze, assess and determine key issues within the context of complex business products. Able to identify issues at varying levels from training issues to specific control failures
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate, good PC skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Ability to prepare, format, and proof for accuracy of data content for internal and external reports as it relates to the date or assigned transactions.
