The *Carpentry Supervisor* is responsible for the management of the Carpentry shop personnel to include hiring/promotions, supervision, job assignments, evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary actions. Other duties of the position include: * Supervision of carpenters and cabinet makers in the construction, renovation, and maintenance of wooden structures, furnishings, and furniture. * Prepare plans and cost estimates for renovation and alteration projects, prepare material requisitions, and supervise carpenters and cabinet makers in carrying out work assignments. * Work includes contact with other departmental personnel in determining types of structures to be constructed, types of materials and supplies to be used, and in resolving problems in maintenance and upkeep of existing structures. * Provide information to customers and resolve problems which could include estimates, repair order requests/questions, response time to work order repairs, workmanship, scheduling repairs and downtime for building systems with coordination with other shop personnel. * Control inventory of maintenance tools and supplies for use in the repair and maintenance of campus buildings. * Prepare or assist in the preparation of the budget information.
Completion of high school and two years of experience in the performance of the full range of journeyman level tasks associated with the trade(s) areas related to the position?s role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
