Head of Customer Campaign Management
The Customer Campaign Management Team
Every week we communicate with millions of our customers for each of our brands and products. That could be a series of communications to try and persuade a reader to become a member, it could be an email trying to get customers to collect tokens for our fantastic £9.50 holiday promotion, or it could simply be a cross-sell communication promoting our Times currency services.
The Customer Campaign Management team exists to make these communications happen – working with the marketing owners to decide the what, when, who and how, building a plan around the customer, defining the contact rules and then ensuring we execute the activity brilliantly and measure the outcomes.
What are my Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Responsible for understanding what the business is trying to achieve: what the priorities are, where the opportunity is and what levers are available to achieve commercial targets ensuring that focus is put on the correct areas.
Accountable for the creation of the 6 month ‘campaign’ plan of consolidated Marketing Engagement Activity – all channels and all customer segments, underpinned by budget to ensure that the campaign plan is approved Marketing & Business development .
Responsible for creating the overall campaign laydown to pass through to Campaign Management whilst staying close to innovations in the Digital and Technology teams to bring appropriate innovations back into campaign planning.
Understand our customers, prospects and market in detail to define different segmented approaches based on distinct characteristics such as value, activity, engagement, product penetration, tenure, etc.
Provide planning consultation to Marketing to explore campaign possibilities.
Work closely with Insights, Analytics and marketing teams to understand customer insight and help shape new propositions which will underpin commercial objectives and will translate into market leading campaigns.
Work with the Marketing, Insights & Analytics teams to understand targets, campaign insight and other trends/insights that can be used to optimise campaign plans across all channels.
Provide leadership to direct reports/team members, coach and develop them to help them achieve their personal and professional objectives.
Working with the Head of Customer Campaign Management to define Campaign management strategy and roadmap and plans.
What do I Know -
Useful knowledge, skills and experience
A planner must be able to demonstrate how they have successfully and consistently gathered, analysed and distilled information to develop a clear and coherent customer strategy to inform a direct marketing plan in at least one business.
Someone who is interested in properly understanding what the problem is and defining the campaign solutions to address it.
Proven experience of managing direct reports/team
Extensive experience gained in a fast moving, commercial consumer sales/marketing environment, with digital at its heart.
Strong commercial acumen, sales focused and experienced at working in a target driven trading environment.
Track record of planning market leading campaigns that demonstrate strong ROI.
Creative and strategic thinker, capable of leading new initiatives from conception to implementation, gaining senior stakeholder buy in from Marketing.
Strong team player with proven track record of working cross-functionally, building good relationships with other teams, and senior stakeholders and fostering collaboration.
Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix including both online and offline media channels.
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Must thrive in a fast-moving and highly changeable environment.
Excellent project management, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
Educated to degree level, ideally in Marketing or Design from a reputable university.
