Oversees Higher Education (HE) product portfolio strategy and execution of go-to-market plans in Middle East Venture Company website includes:
Collecting & feeding back customer insight to the HELine of Business; Product selection & planning in association with HE LOB;
Trade terms & pricing; support in product marketing campaign planning; and forecasting and measurement.
The HE Portfolio Manager is also responsible in providing pre-sales
support, solution design (in conjunction with other relevant parties like Portfolio Solutions Manager and Technology Delivery), and overseeing the end to end delivery of HE products/services in the region.
Success will be measured initially by successful wins business in the region, profitability of products / services, and partially sales. In the future, there will be additional measures related to gross margin, customer and learner measures (e.g., NPS, efficacy).
Manage the HE Portfolio leads to:
Commercial Performance
Evaluate current HE LOB strategies and product offering in conjunction with HE LOB Commercial, PE Content/Product, and Venture Middle East sales teams to identify customer & market opportunities to drive greater commercial performance
Identify opportunities for growth and improvement across LOB Categories in order to grow contribution for the different channels, developing partnerships with key partners and evaluating commercial GTM proposals to match customer needs
Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities to deliver HE LOB solutions to partners and institutions
Pipeline management and prioritization of development across
the MENA markets.
Customer Insight and Segmentation
• Define target segments by market in partnership with Sales Directors & HE LoB
• Identify key stakeholders - ministry, school, teacher and
• student profile - and distribution channels, with forecasted reach
• Understand and communicate requirements for key customers and learners for local or HE LoB global product planning
• Provide feedback on product plans; features/ benefits/
• outcomes; and core narratives and materials to Portfolio Head.
Product Selection & Planning
• Select HE frontlist (grow), sustain and retire titles/ products
• Define local customization requirements for global HE products with the Venture service delivery teams in collaboration with
• Product Development teams and ensure meet customer needs in a timely manner
Trade Terms and Pricing
• Be the go-to-resource to set trade terms and pricing by segment, product type (grow/ sustain/ retire) and distribution channel in association with LoB pricing strategy
• Evaluate solutions to assess customer value to develop pricing strategies that meet global and local needs
• Partner with geo finance teams to develop financial models to assess financial viability of alternative strategies and where to prioritise investment spending
Product Campaign Planning
• Work with local marketing team to plan product campaigns
• Review final HE related collateral and messaging
• Allocate & agree Geo revenue forecast for products & services (Company website investment stage)
• Agree ROI and outcome measures for key product campaigns (e.g., leads, conversion etc.)
• Agree adoption metrics, reporting and planning & monthly reports back to HE LoB
Field Sales & Partner Support
• Sales/ Partner Training /Teacher Training
• Work with Customer Experience group and Marketing to identify& co-ordinate HE LoB Teacher Training, train the trainer
• Work with HE LoB to train marketing, sales and partners in key product features, benefits and outcomes; sales teams on customer profiles; key messages, successful implementation examples and relevant education trends and research
• Events & Customer and Author visits
• Represent Company as a product expert
• Support sales and service delivery teams on customer visits as product and category expert
Forecasting & Measurement
• Develop and deliver financial forecast for the product portfolio
• in agreement with Sales and Marketing Directors and review and feedback to HE LOB
• Review results of research (conducted by Efficacy Manager in
• Geo and HE LoB); option to conduct additional analysis as required
Solution design and bespoke development
• Pre-sales support to identify customer requirements
• Lead the solution design by engaging relevant stakeholders in Company, and ensure that the delivery corresponds to customer
• expectations and requirements.
• Work closely with the product development team and the
• customer excellence team to ensure timely delivery.

Qualifications
Competencies
Essential:
• Proven Leadership skills, and have managed culturally diverse teams in a matrix environment
• Good understanding of Company’s products and services for the Middle-east market.
• Strategic mindset and ability to make data driven decisions on segment and product choices
• Good understanding of basic financials
• Basic understanding of excel and ability to conduct simple analyses to draw insights from data
• Experience setting and tracking measures for key projects(e.g,. financial forecasting, product forecasting, campaign measures)
• Ability to explain and communicate strategies to peers and non-direct reports
• Proven experience of global matrix organization with proven collaborative approach, and ability to build relationships across levels of seniority
• Experience in a commercial role in a global B2B information environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a global and changing business environment
• Experience of evaluating and implementing commercial strategies including pricing in a digital and print product environment
• Experience of developing and overseeing the creation of go to market strategies and pricing models
