Our Product Supply team is responsible for all direct and indirect manufacturing of products. Whether it’s sourcing ingredients, manufacturing our pods, or negotiating with our suppliers, the team works collaboratively across US Plants, Switzerland, and Asia to provide the freshest and highest quality products to our consumers. In this Buyer II – Beverage Packaging role, you will be responsible for all strategic aspects of procurement related to club and corrugate cases – including vendor selection, supplier relationships, price negotiation, raw material specifications optimization, and inventory level management.
What you will do:
Deliver results and process improvements within key performance areas, including cost management, cash performance, service and quality.
Lead specific projects, including RFx events to optimize value.
Manage and develop external supply relationships.
Manage complex, global supply chains.
Evaluate mid and long term capacity to ensure that optimal supply is available to all production sites.
With guidance, analyze and action plan to improve key metrics to be reported to the Procurement Director and Senior Director on a monthly basis.
Develop and align business contingency plans at senior leadership level.
Define, develop, and implement optimal sourcing strategies that deliver business objectives
Develop expertise regarding the supply regions we are buying from, including impacts of governmental, technological, and economic conditions that influence those markets.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners, including Finance, R&D, Sustainability, QA, and Planning.
Manage commodity mechanisms to accurately reflect feedstock impacts to packaging material pricing.
Follow all Company Dr Pepper policies and procedures.
What you must have:
5 years’ experience in procurement or 2 years’ experience in procurement with 3 years’ relevant supply chain experience.
Bachelor’s Degree and/or Accredited Purchasing Professional Certification preferred.
Experience with food and beverage packaging preferred.
Knowledge of Inventory policy and Material Requirements Planning preferred.
Experience working with commodity mechanisms (escalators/de-escalators) preferred.
Analytical and reporting skills from data acquired within ERP systems, preferably SAP.
Good communication skills – verbal and written.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Experience participating in the planning and execution of negotiations and RFP’s/RFQs.
Ability to develop effective supplier relationships to provide competitive advantage in the procurement process.
