We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join the Employment Engagement team.
As a business development manager, you will have an exciting opportunity shape and deliver the Employment Engagement program. You will work with account teams to establish relationships with AWS customers and partners to advocate learners and graduates from AWS Training & Certification education programs as a source of hiring talent. In addition, you will identify internship and graduate job opportunities, and implement employment programs. You will have excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills and proven experience in the IT and/or Education sectors, ideally working on workforce development programs. You will build ways to track program impact, and use your experience to help improve our engagement model and scale the program worldwide. To be successful in this position, you must be highly organized, creative and a self-starter who is able to work with ambiguity, think big, define and develop new programs, execute flawlessly and stay focused on the details.
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to identify employers with demand to hire graduates and interns with AWS skills
Establish impactful relationships with AWS customers and partners and liaise with them to determine hiring needs
Connect AWS Academy students and graduates with entry level roles with AWS customers and partners
Contribute towards development of processes to streamline and scale Employment Engagement programs worldwide
Identify and share best practices for continual improvement of Employment Engagement programs to maximize hiring outcomes for AWS Training & Certification learners, AWS Certified individuals, AWS customers and AWS partners
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify opportunities to increase awareness of AWS Education programs such as AWS Academy and AWS re/Start with employers, educational institutions and students
Ability and willingness to travel – up to 25%
Minimum of 5 years’ sales and/or business development experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience on workforce development programs
Minimum of 5 years’ experience on education and/or training programs
Minimum of 5 years’ program management experience in the IT and/or Education sectors, preferably working on Employment programs
Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence others internally and externally
Exceptional organizational skills with proven success taking ownership
Ability to deliver initiatives from conception through completion with ability to identify and drive continuous improvement
Self-starter with ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
Experience working in global virtual teams
Bachelor's degree or higher required
Experience in building and developing large scale programs end to end
Exposure to education programs and/or recruitment programs
Recent experience in a fast-paced, multinational technology company
Knowledge/understanding of cloud computing and AWS will be considered a bonus
