What the Quality Analyst (Art) will do at BioWare:
The Art Sr. Quality Analyst role is responsible for working with development on the quality creation and implementation of art content. This person is self-directed, and develops and executes a test strategy to ensure a high level of art quality. The Analyst will need to develop expertise with game technology, in-house, and 3rd party tools and partner with the Development Teams, helping to improve the test and development process, and provide Development Support as needed
Primary Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and execute art test strategy
• Testing of art assets and in-game implementation
• Provide support to multiple art development teams, including outsourced art teams
• Maintain effective Inter-team communication between Art and QA
• Reproduction and regression of defects, defect origin analysis.
• Define acceptance tests for new features & content: keeping them up-to-date throughout the project.
• Risk analysis of impact and scope of art content and features
• Assist with prioritizing bug fixing efforts.
• Proactively contributes to the strategy of the QA group.
What skills does BioWare look for?
• 3d authoring software experience
• Visual literacy
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other code background preferred
• Excellent understanding of software quality assurance concepts, debugging processes and procedures.
• Preferred knowledge in gaming consoles or embedded systems.
• Successfully interface with customers with a diverse set of backgrounds and needs - able to speak their language, appreciate their challenges, and maintain their respect.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of the software development life cycle and how it applies to QA
• Experience using MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong observational skills, analytical and detail oriented
• Proactive in completing tasks and escalating issues appropriately
• Strong problem solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills
