The AWS Training and Certification (T&C) team is looking for a Curriculum Development Project Manager with business process experience, technical insight, education acumen, strong organizational skills, and interest in working cross-functionally within AWS to manage multiple global training projects aligned to programs.
The Curriculum Development Project Manager within the AWS T&C Curriculum Team will support content development and release, working with Curriculum Development Project contacts, Instructional Designers, Technical Curriculum Architects, Curriculum Developers, and AWS stakeholders across AWS. Accuracy, relevancy, and time to market are critical attributes for our training and you will be working with T&C Training Product Manager and Curriculum teams in coordinating plans and schedules to ensure timely availability of our training offerings. To be successful in this role, the candidate must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, have a passion for education, be consultative, have technical acumen, and technical experience and knowledge on the AWS platform. This role requires professional project management (PMP) certification, demonstrating excellent project management skills, strategic thinking and problem solving, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter with a strong bias for action that is not afraid to dig into the details to ensure we are working cross-functionally to facilitate content creation that is aligned to roles and technical roadmaps across various T&C technical domain programs.
§ Provide influence, direction and guidance to ensure the development and release of high quality training offerings.
§ Coordinate cross-functional resources to review project deliverables and ensure completion of projects.
§ Actively review, contribute to, and monitor roadmaps to ensure timely engagement, planning and execution for training offerings.
§ Recommend alternative approaches that reduce time to market while continuing to provide an engaging experience for the learner.
§ Review performance of the portfolio for quality, accuracy, and relevancy.
§ Aggregate and provide continuous improvement feedback to content contributors based on course feedback outcomes.
§ Identify process improvement strategies to facilitate the creation and production of technical training.
§ Travel required for onboarding, course production, events, team and group meetings. (Approximately 30%-40%).
**This position can be remote, but candidates must be based near an AWS office location (Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Cupertino, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, East Palo Alto, Herndon, New York City, Pittsburgh, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Monica, Seattle, or Tempe)
5+ years’ experience in Project/Program Management
Project Management Professional certification (PMP) from PMI, or global equivalent (i.e. Prince 2 Certification), or CSM (Certified Scrum Master)
Proficiency in project management software tools
Must have technology acumen, preferably experience in training or support roles, but minimally an understanding of cloud technologies and distributed computing and ability to relate to IT role functions.
Operations management experience in a ticket-driven workload.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical industry work experience
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to define, influence, refine, and implement processes, procedures, and policies.
Background or knowledge of learning design, training/education, curriculum development and/or instructional design, including courses released on online learning platforms
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
Ability to manage ambiguous projects, identify and solve blocking issues, and know when to escalate to keep a project moving forward.
Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
Business & IT strategy experience
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Current AWS Cloud Practitioner or other AWS professional certification
