The Athletic Director directs and assesses all athletic teams, programs and services which support the academic mission and educational outcomes of the College. Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, this position is responsible for supervising all staff, facilities and finances related to college athletics. Relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and other staff both internal and external of the college are critical to the success of this position. The Athletic Director must have the ability to supervise, stimulate and coordinate the operation of various activities; listen to and record students’ desires accurately and effectively; and supervise students, faculty and staff involved in a variety of co-curricular activities.
The AD must be comfortable working in an atmosphere of collegial decision-making and demonstrate consensus-building skills. The Director will represent the college, the student affairs division, and the viewpoint of student leadership in many capacities both within and outside the College.

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of related work experience (including two years of supervising).
• Effective human relations/communications skills: written, verbal and listening.
• Experience working for a higher education institution.
• Understanding, sensitivity and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and a belief in the ability of every person to be a successful learner.
• Experience with budget development and management.
• Demonstrated experience in compliance and eligibility requirements and processes
• Demonstrated experience in fundraising.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in administration and/or supervision appropriate to the assignment.
• Experience with schedule-management.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Initiative to make decisions independently regarding workload, problems, or situations.
