TITLE: Associate Manager, Latin America Fund Operations (Company, Inc. – Miami, FL and various and unanticipated locations nationally and internationally)
DUTIES: Service and Support Company Real Estate (Company) in the Accounting and Reporting of the Latin American Real Estate Investments within their portfolios. Work closely with portfolio management, finance, legal, and transactions. Responsible for understanding accounting implications of all acquisitions and sales transactions and ensuring the proper execution of accounting and all reporting for their assigned portfolios. Prepare, develop, and review timely and accurate quarterly and annual financial statements for our Latin American investment funds. Provide institutional investor base with accurate financial data related to our real estate investments in Latin America. Ensure financial statements are in compliance with Mexican generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Work with accounting professionals on deal abstracts that ensure a thorough understanding of the required accounting and tax reporting necessary for the transactions, particularly as it relates to Mexican GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS. Prepare Key Performance Indicators in order to monitor the quality of work delivered by the third party accounting providers in Latin America. Coordinate with Mexican tax authorities as it relates to tax obligations for the Latin American Investment Funds. Perform quarterly and annual third party portfolio financial statements review for domestic and international funds. Review all third party portfolio financial statements prepared by other international accounting firms to ensure they are prepared in conjunction with internal processes and protocols. Serve as gatekeeper for MRI, the property management and accounting information system to consolidate financial information and identify potential financial risk.
REQTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the position offered, Accounting Analyst, or a related position. Must have three (3) years of experience with: Mexican GAAP; US GAAP; Waterfalls; Preferred Return/Promote/Carried Interest; Management Fees Calculation; Internal Rate of Return (IRR); Time-Weighted Returns; and Equity Multiple Calculation for Closed End Portfolios. Must have one (1) year of experience with: International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); Mexican standard business and banking laws as pertaining to Real Estate; Key Performance Indicators to measure quantitative and qualitative performance from partners and property managers in Mexico; Mexican tax law compliance. Must be fluent in Spanish (oral and written).
HOURS: Full time; Mon- Fri (37.5 hrs/week)
