The Learning & Development Specialist (LDS) works to identify, recommend and create solutions that help the lines of business (LOB) meet business goals. The LDS works on complex training projects, sometimes multiple projects concurrently, and identifies ways to innovate and drive learning.
Identifies innovative, impactful solutions that address all requirements, improve learner outcomes and deliver measurable results to the business
Communicates clearly and in a compelling way with all project stakeholders
Employs design thinking, digital design and agile development processes
Develops and deepens knowledge of training technology and innovation
Identifies needs or receives request from Learning & Development (L&D) Director/Manager or business sponsor.
Conducts initial project scoping and collects project requirements from key stakeholders
Creates training design consistent with adult learning theory that effectively conveys key information and achieves learning objectives
Effectively uses current training technology tools and software (Captivate, Storyline, Vyond, etc.) focusing on both quality and speed to market
Measures the effectiveness of the training by reviewing learner feedback and testing data, addresses gaps as needed
Measures the impact the training had on employee knowledge/behavior and business results, summarizes results/impacts and shares with the business
Develops and maintains a solid knowledge of LOB job roles, environment, goals, culture, key players, policies/procedures, etc.
Manages effectively against project timelines, ensures stakeholder engagement, and regularly communicates project status to all involved parties
Updates training content, as needed, in a timely manner to reflect business changes
Appropriately follows team procedures to document material review, maintenance and recertification
Partners with Delivery to improve and assess the effectiveness of training content
Ensures that all training materials are properly reviewed and approved by required business partners
Ensures collaboration with training peers to identify efficiencies, opportunities to leverage content, design approach, best practices, and innovation
Embraces new training technologies and approaches with emphasis on “digital first” design that leads to learning solutions that are effective and efficient
Bachelor’s degree in HR, organizational development, learning and development, instructional design, educational technology or similar degree (preferred)
3-5 years’ experience in design, developing, and implementing instructional design solutions (strongly preferred)
