Associate-Intermediate/VP with Company & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Duties: Associate-Intermediate/VP with Company & Co. LLC in Jersey City, NJ. Perform monthly and quarterly profit and loss (P&L) and Net Interest Margin (NIM) commentary for firm-wide businesses for external foot note disclosures, regulatory reports and management commentary. Liaise with product controllers to analyze Interest Income and Interest Expense around trading activity and risk positions to highlight significant items to senior management. Prepare and present quarterly commentary to senior management ahead of quarterly earnings release date. Perform balance sheet analysis for businesses to explain the change in interest yields. Liaise with Accounting Policy, Financial Reporting and Technology on matters related to improving processes and/or implementing newer policies that impact Net Interest Margin. Act as a resource for junior analysts in the preparation of monthly and quarterly deliverables and review their reports to ensure accuracy. Liaise with Corporate treasury and Technology to review and perform analysis relating to the firm’s Interest Rate Risk in the Banking book projects (IRRBB).
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (US or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce. Will accept single degree or any combination of degrees and/or professional experience that are equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related position in financial services. Must have four (4) years of experience with: interacting with Product Controllers, Corporate Treasury, Accounting Policy, Financial Reporting and Technology; leveraging understanding of the capital market and interest rate products such as deposits, swaps, options, and futures to analyze the P&L and quantify the NIM drivers for different products on a firm’s Balance Sheet; financial control infrastructure and financial control risk assessments related to broker-dealer firms, including experience with trades/P&L flows through booking systems and sub ledgers to the ledger; analyzing risk factors in Interest income/expense and Balance Sheet analytics and presenting findings to senior management; and analyzing Profit and Loss (P&L) - Interest and Trading.
