GKN Research Operations consists of 56 people spread across 6 teams. Each team manages different aspects of Research Operations, partners with various global teams including Senior Management, Compliance, Legal, Technology etc. and is instrumental in driving Global Projects. The functions of each team at a high level vary from provisioning research access for clients; maintaining client data integrity; reporting and analytics support for various performance metrics and research business management; maintaining disclosures for research reports and analyst permissions for publishing research; production support, and maintenance of our financial database
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage market data and research data engagements for Global Research. The Research Data Management Analyst will manage vendor engagements by facilitating contract renewals, negotiating pricing, onboarding vendors through the Third Party Oversight (TPO) and supplier due diligence processes, managing cost allocations and partnering with Business Managers, Legal, Strategic Sourcing, Third Party Oversight, Market Data Services and other teams to insure transparency and efficiency across the function. The Analyst will provide regular reporting across Global Research and will work with Business Managers to identify cost savings and to provide strategic planning and analysis, e.g. vendor replacement and alternative data providers. As a founding member of a new team, the Analyst should have the ability to create and manage new processes from end-to-end and to incorporate feedback from multiple constituents.
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience supporting Research or Investment Banking, be familiar with market data and research sources, have experience with the Third Party oversight process, management reporting, and providing support to Business Management teams. Candidates should be proficient with Excel and have strong written and oral communication skills. Candidates must be able to work independently, have the ability to partner with senior management, and possess the tenacity to follow engagements through complex, multi-phased processes.
Maintain knowledge of Third Party Oversight policy and process requirements
Execute the requirements set forth in the Policy for each vendor engagement
Engage stakeholders as appropriate and incorporate their requirements throughout the TPO process phases of Onboarding, Steady State and Disengagement of supplier engagements
Monitor activities associated with vendor engagement to mitigate gaps in contract coverage
Market Data & Research Vendor Management
Negotiate and onboard contracts with value <$50K, in accordance with Company standards
Global Research’s primary liaison with Market Data Services, Sourcing, Legal and TPO for contracts >$50K
Apprise stakeholders and Business Managers of contract costs and gain approval for renewals and new engagements
Manage deployment of new products & interfaces
Work jointly with IB team to insure shared contracts are completed efficiently
Provide feedback to vendors and facilitate meetings between users and vendors as needed
Track invoice payments and insure proper allocations
Provide education to users on proper use of sources from a compliance standpoint
Analyze usage statistics for cost overages, improper use, and usage trends that could lead to redeployment of passwords, substitution possibilities, cancellations, etc. Follow-up with appropriate action in each case.
Recertify users as needed
Maintain all vendors’ contract in accordance with Company and Global Research standards
Maintain database of all active engagements to facilitate reporting to Business Managers and Global Research senior management
