The Associate Director, Digital Media Operations main responsibility is to manage a team(s) of Digital Media Operations members in the preparation, implementation and management of digital media campaigns across multiple brands and/or accounts. Primary responsibility will be to oversee a team/accounts that manages numerous campaigns and work with creative, media, analytics, and clients to develop and manage project timelines, identify roles/responsibilities and key stakeholders, as well as the implementation of campaigns.
This position is essential in the day-to-day running of the Digital Media Operations department and designated accounts. This individual must work well in a team-based, fast paced, detail-oriented environment. Associate Director, Digital Media Operations is expected to be resourceful and demonstrates the initiative to participate in advanced projects.
The Associate Director, Digital Media Operations position is also responsible for working with the senior leadership team of creative, analytics (digital and cross media), integrated communication planners, as well as the digital, print, broadcast and television teams to identify and/or develop solutions to support the client needs, provide consultative support from a technical and operational perspective to the creative and media teams, develop “Best Practices” for their account, as well as a mentor to help apply it towards other Carat accounts.
In addition, the Associate Director, Digital Media Operation role will participate in several Aegis/Carat corporate initiatives to help existing partnerships advance their technology and capabilities. Associate Directors will be expected to collaborate closely with ad serving partners (DoubleClick), Carat’s Trading desk (AMNET), and other technologies including, ad verification, remarketing, privacy concerns, IAB/AAAA industry best practices, planning & buying tools (eg. iDesk, Facilitate Digital, etc.), etc. As such, The Associate Director, Digital Media Operations will be required to develop and present presentations and POVs to clients, media partners/vendors, internal/external account teams, etc.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Digital Operations Management:
• Demonstrate multi-tasking ability; keep multiple projects on-track
• Expert in Microsoft Excel, Third Party Ad Servers (DoubleClick DFA and/or AtlasDMT) and rich media technology (eg. PointRoll, Unicast, Eyeblaster)
• A technical authority for all technical issues involved in running online ad campaigns (including trafficking of remarketing capabilities, VAST/In-Stream Video, Rich Media and Audio)
• Work closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure that appropriate materials are received and/or distributed correctly
• Coordinate and meet all deliverables accurately and in a timely manner
• Work closely with media vendors and media teams to resolve reporting and/or billing discrepancies
• Plan, organize, activate and control daily process
• Manage between 5-8 person team in Digital Media Operations capacity
• Oversee multiple accounts and/or brands
• Familiar with the IAB/AAAA’s best practices and guidelines
• Strong relationship with Google DoubleClick products (MediaVisor, DFA, ReportCentral, DoubleClick Analytics, DoubleClick MOTIF, DoubleClick Studios, Teracent, etc.)
Client & Internal Relationships:
• Support teams in preparing and delivering assets to media vendors
• Work with media, creative and analytics teams to identify and develop best practices from both a creative and technical perspective
• Manage relationships with external vendors (such as rich media companies, media publishers, research firms, etc.)
• Engages with all work-related contacts in a professional & respectful manner
• Possesses mature and professional business acumen in personal and written communications
• Attends all status meetings when appropriate
Strategic Thinking & Leadership:
• Demonstrates active listening skills and ability to apply learnings over time
• Recognize recurrent or potential issues and problems, and know when to escalate and propose solutions, where possible
• Takes clear ownership of assigned tasks
• Attend and participate in vendor presentations and/or conferences offering media solutions that may be relevant to the Media Operations group.
Communication Skills:
• Express oneself clearly and concisely in written and oral communications
• Write in a clear, compelling and concise manner
• Organize ideas and information logically and sequentially
• Collaborate, develop and present POVs and presentations in face-to-face meetings as well as conference calls.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• 8-12 year industry experience
• Proficient in MS office suite (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint)
• Expert in third-party ad servers and rich media technology (DoubleClick DFA, VAST/V-Paid, Mobile/Tablet, Rich Media implementation, etc.)
• Comfortable with technology and computers (eg. Html coding)
• Ability to multi-task
• Effective time management skills
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
