Our Summer Interns will be paid hourly and work up to 40 hours per week during this program. Interns will act as a part of the Valuation & Advisory service line team learning and engaging each step of the way. This position assists in providing objective, impartial and unbiased opinions about the value of real property for a variety of clients and intended users. Performs a range of functions working under the supervision of a Senior Appraiser, including comprehensive and detailed market research, report writing and creating complex financial models.
Research comparable sales, listings and rentals
Assist in the construction of financial models, including discounted cash flow
Research benchmark rates of return including cap rates and discount rates
Assist in the preparation of appraisals and other consulting reports that aid the client with decision making
Inspect property and interview market participants along with a Senior Appraiser
Gather, organize, summarize, and report relevant public property-level information
Assist in the review and selection of the most relevant comparable information relative to the property being appraised
Research and analyze general market information in terms of its impact on properties and their markets
Collecting land sales, improved sales and rent comparables
Qualifications and Required Skills:
At least two (2) years completed toward bachelor’s degree
Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA
Legal authorization to work in U.S. (Visa sponsorship unavailable for this position)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proven record of providing excellent customer service
A self-starter, who is reliable, and gets things done as efficiently as possible
Detail-oriented while also being able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work individually as Company as a team player
