Duties: Work with senior business partners and IT to define and evaluate new strategic business opportunities. Partner with business leaders, developers, engineers, and production support teams to provide design guidelines on SAS deployments, to support existing SAS reporting applications, and to develop applications. Interact directly with end users, gather requirements, and convert requirements into technical design. Analyze cross-organizational processes and integrated systems to develop and implement new process configurations. Design and modify multi-system environments, and support critical credit risk reports using SAS, Oracle, and UNIX platforms. Design and develop SAS macros and other utilities to expedite SAS programming activities. Utilize SAS code to run explicit PROC SQL to pass queries to databases. Utilize various SAS technologies to create reports and to change output formats and destinations. Produce and analyze aggregated data sets, and develop custom reports. Fulfill custom research reporting requests for syndicated tracking products. Create complex stored procedures in Oracle and UNIX shell scripts. Assist with developing methodology and tools used by the team, and enforce adherence to standards and business priorities.
Minimum education and experience required: This position requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience as a Programmer Analyst, Software Developer/Engineer, Associate - Projects, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience as Programmer Analyst, Software Developer/Engineer, Associate - Projects, or related occupation in lieu of a Master's degree plus three (3) years of experience.
Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills: core SAS development; solutions engineering and design in SAS, FUTRIX, ORACLE, or UNIX; SQL Tuning, Trace, and Performance for 11g Oracle databases; writing DATA STEP, PROC SQL, and MACRO language to access and manipulate data used in reports; importing and exporting SAS data using SAS code; automating and batch scheduling code; using SAS functions to parse character data, perform computations on numeric data, and date-time data; and performance tuning and optimization. This position requires two (2) years of experience with developing applications in a financial services environment.
