Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking an Assistant to the Athletic Director (AA# 07-6-239) who possesses the management expertise and organizational skills needed to work with all aspects of a successful NCAA Athletics program. This is a full-time, professional 12-month, permanent position which requires the candidate to: engage with the community to enhance relationships with local Bloomsburg supporters; secure additional funding via external constituents related to camp, clinic, and tailgating efforts; serve as acting athletics liaison with numerous university departments; assist with campus background check procedures related to camps, clinics, and other instances involving minors on campus; games management; facility and operational planning; various special projects; program review and assessment, and general office management duties
Master’s degree is required for the position as well as professional experience in a college athletic environment. Successful applicants must possess strong interpersonal skills to relate to coaches, student-athletes, officials, university constituents, and guests in a fast-paced environment. A successful applicant will be able to balance the multiple needs of Bloomsburg University’s athletic programs. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations preferred.
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and criminal background. Finalists for the position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview process.
Anticipated start date of February 20, 2017, but is negotiable. An excellent benefits package is included. This position is represented by the State College and University Professionals Association union, and is classified as a SUA2 with a salary of $45,027.
