Assistant/Associate Professor, Term Tenure Track
The Department of Neurosurgery is recruiting for a faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, Term Tenure Track.
Provides clinical expertise in patient care management and an appropriate teaching environment for fellows, residents and students in the specialty of neurosurgery. The applicant is expected to spend 20%-25% of their effort in clinical practice including evaluating patients and performing surgical procedures.
The primary purpose of the Term Tenure Track Faculty position is to lead a program applicable to central nervous system (CNS) cancers, to have a significant role in the Comprehensive Cancer Support Grant (CCSG) and the Brain Tumor Center (BTC), and lead multi-investigator team research in the Department of Neurosurgery. The applicant is expected to spend 75%-80% of his/her time in translational research efforts. Special consideration will be given to applicants with a translational frame of research with the goal of translating laboratory findings and clinical care.
Required: Doctoral degree (M.D., or equivalent) from an accredited school and be professionally competent.
Required: MD or MD/PhD who has achieved national recognition as an expert in an area applicable to CNS oncology with peer-reviewed NIH funding and prior successful experience at leading multi-disciplinary team science. The candidate must be able to recognize the value of and foster research initiatives both within and outside their area of expertise.
